Inverclyde Carers Centre
Inverclyde Carers Centre provides a service to identify and support Carers to recognise and be recognised by others for their valuable contribution to society.
A Carer is someone who provides unpaid support to a family member or friend. They may care for an older person, someone who is disabled, has a long-term illness, mental health problems or is affected by alcohol or drug misuse.
Carers can be any age, from children to older people, and from every community and culture. Some Carers may be disabled or have care needs themselves.
Registering as a Carer is simple. It involves a short discussion with a Carer Support Worker to gather your contact details and information about your caring role.
Once Carers are registered they can benefit from a variety of services within the Centre.
The Centre can provide:
Emotional Support – Counselling and Relaxation Therapies. Carer Support Workers can also provide a listening ear.
Benefit Advice – Financial Fitness appointments to advise on any benefits or financial affairs.
Short Breaks – Overnight breaks and Alternative breaks.
Carer Groups – Various support and social groups.
Social Events – Social events for Carers.
Carer Passport - To identify Carers and provide Carers access to discounts at a range of businesses throughout Inverclyde.
